AMP is working hard to encourage a Percent for Art Policy program. This type of program mandates that when a large building construction project is undertaken, between 0.5% to 1% of those funds will be donated to art installments for environment enhancement purposes. Percent

for Art has been established across the U.S.A. and Europe. For example, in New York City, one percent of 20 million dollars from initial building cost of all public buildings owned by the city is required to be devoted to art work purchase and 0.5% is taken from the portion that exceeds over 20 million dollars.

The Goal of A.M.P.

There are only a few public institutions that adopt a policy similar to Percent for Art in today’s Japanese society. We would like to create a similar policy to Percent for Art applied to construction of public buildings and universities.

We believe that the beauty and joy of artwork should be spread throughout society, not just by donations of artists but also from people who appreciate art from different backgrounds.
